Rainforest Ride – Official event program available for download

Monday, November 9, 2009

Spectacular rainforests with supernatural scenery, low traffic roads, challenging climbs and thrilling descents, fun, laughter and air so fresh you could bottle it… As a participant in this spectacular event you will experience all this and more as you enjoy the simple pleasures of riding your bike through beautiful wilderness with new and old friends - Welcome to the Rainforest Ride.

Entries are continuing to come in, fundraising for the Burnet Institute is intensifying and final event preparations are underway for what will be a terrific day of riding in and around Apollo Bay on 21st November, 2009. We hope you are looking forward to it as much as we are.

We take pleasure in now making available the Official Event Program which outlines the final logistical plans and details for the ride, and encourage all participants to download it and spend some time reading it before the event so you know what is going on.

EVENT PROGRAM DOWNLOAD

All the information you require to make the most of your training and preparations for the event is included in the event program and we encourage you and anyone who is accompanying you to Apollo Bay for the ride to be aware of these details before hand and even bring a copy with you so you can find your way around when you get there.

The Rainforest Ride is not just about cycling though, as we know many of you have also been busy fundraising for the event’s charity partner – the Burnet Institute. As you will now be aware, the Burnet Institute is working on developing vaccines and new drugs to fight back against The ‘Big Three’: HIV, TB and malaria – the world’s worst infectious diseases. The monies you have raised and the effort you will put into riding your bike as part of the event will make an enormous difference in supporting Burnet’s work to prevent the suffering of millions of people around the world.

We hope you are fit and filled with expectation for the cycling challenge ahead of you and thank you once again for supporting this inaugural event and the work of the Burnet Institute.

Ride safe and see you in Apollo Bay on 21 November, 2009.
