Young Aussies to race Cape Epic

Shaun Lewis (Rockstar) and James Williamson (Giant) are heading to South Africa this week to contest the prestigious Cape Epic stage race from the 21st to 28th of March. The Cape Epic, the most televised mountain bike race in the world, gives riders eight days of racing with some huge mountains and long stages thrown in.

These two young Aussies are looking forward to the challenge of the Cape Epic and have plenty of credibility behind them with Shaun Lewis a former U/23 Oceania XC Champion and Aussie World Champ representative and James a former World Solo 24hr Champ. The two hope to put their experience to good use against a stella field including current World XC Champ Nino Schurter and other big-name European professionals. According to James, ”It's really an amazing opportunity for us. We're looking forward to racing against the fastest guys in the world but we're also stoked to be heading somewhere new and riding what sound like amazing trails.”

The pair will be racing as Team Swell-Enduro thanks to support from Canberra-based graphic design company Swell Design Group and Enduro magazine and will also be representing their individual sponsors Rockstar Racing and Giant bikes.
